March 2013: Millbrook, the family-run, independent company that owns two garden centres in Crowborough, Sussex and Gravesend in Kent, has acquired Highgrove Garden Centre.
Owned by Homeleigh Building Supplies, Highgrove is located near Maidstone in Kent and has recently obtained a Certificate of Lawful Planning Use that provides significant potential to increase turnover.
Mike Gilbert, partner at Gilbert Evans who handled the transaction, adds: “We’ve worked closely with Highgrove for the last five years or so to make sure we could do the best deal. Highgrove is a really good fit for Millbrook. The deal is a very good one for both parties.”
Tammy Woodhouse, managing director at Millbrook, comments: “We have been looking for a third site for some time to complement our existing centres. It presents us with a really good opportunity and we are looking forward to developing and moving Highgrove forwards”.
