June 2012: Gilbert Evans has been appointed sole agent for a  planned garden centre to be built within the heart of the successful regional shopping centre at Junction 32 Castleford.  The Junction 32 Outlet Shopping Village is anchored by key retailers including Marks & Spencer, Next and Gap. It is adjacent to Xscape with its extensive leisure catchment.

The garden centre will comprise 50,000 sq ft of covered retailing space with an additional outside plant sales area.  It will be a brand new centre.

“This is a very exciting opportunity”, commented Dan Mason, Development Director of Realm Asset Managers, “There is a big demand in the area for a garden centre and this will complement and increase the scheme’s 3.1 million annual visitors”.

Junction 32 is in the heart of the Leeds, Doncaster, Wakefield conurbation.  Over 65% of shoppers are ABC1, the core market for garden centres.  The scheme has 1400 free car parking spaces.

The new garden centre, which will be available for spring 2014, will be leased.  Rental is likely to be linked to turnover.
